OXY-Acetylene Welding, Brazing and Torch Soldering
This course offers the welding student instruction on how to use oxy-acetylene equipment to cut and join steel, aluminum, copper, and cast iron. At their own work station, students will learn the techniques of torch welding, brazing and soldering. Students will also learn plasma cutting. All basic supplies, except the required textbook Welders Handbook by Richard Finch (available from the Home Depot, Lowes and local book stores), are included in the materials fee. A personal safety list will be provided upon registration.
STICK and M.I.G. ARC WELDING
This more advanced course is for students who want to weld steel that is 1/8 inch thick and up. At their own workstation, the students will learn both MIG and stick arc welding process. Each class will include theory, demonstration, and individual hands-on instruction. Instruction will include the use of oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting equipment. All basic supplies, except the required textbook Welders Handbook by Richard Finch (available from the Home Depot, Lowe's and local bookstores) are included in the materials fee. A personal safety equipment list will be provided upon registration.
